Egyptian and Grecian styles have been making their appearances on celebrities in Hollywood as ancient styles become modern again breath new life into fashion.  Angelina Jolie  made a striking appearance at the 2009 Oscars wearing a 65-carat Colombian emerald ring and 15-carat emerald drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. The earliest history of emeralds were in fact found found in Egypt, by the Red sea. The Egyptians mined emeralds on the hillside of Djebel Sikeit and Djebel Zabarah.  Classic Egyptian jewels are often appear very modern with straight lines and feature striking gemstones with exquisite laborious settings. Emeralds and Rubies worn with a white wedding gown are the perfect contrast of colors. Consider a high impact with color such as an emerald than the basic white diamond look every bride chooses. Cleopatra’s favorite gem was the emerald.
