Many people claim Kim Kardashian is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She is known for her striking facial features and her stunning smokey eyes. Her wedding sparked lots of interest, primarily from all the disappointed men; being that she had been finally been taken off the market! Kim made some terrific wedding attire choices, and doted NOT ONE look but THREE wedding dresses!! All three of Kim's dresses were couture wedding dresses, and she wore over $ 15 million worth of diamonds. Kim and husband, NBA star Kris Humphries, were featured in PEOPLE, with 11 pages dedicated to exclusive photos, interviews, and lovely details of her big day. The most unique look of all her wedding looks was the first look she choose to walk down the isle. Later in her wedding, she let her hair down and changed her gown. The first look reminded me of Cleopatra, and also had some Indian elements which must have inspired her in the design of this amazing wedding headpiece.

E Online featured some fantastic pictures on their website, showing some great glimpses into the wedding ceremony and party. Check out the picture below that shows a very clear view of how the headpiece is put together.

In the front of the headpiece, you see a string of round diamonds that connects 5 round diamonds that hang vertically and graduate across her forehead.

The middle diamond is the largest and they taper in size as they go out from the middle diamond.

A pendant connects the middle section of diamonds at the edge of her hair line, and also connects the row of diamonds that hold the headpiece on her head, which also extends to the back of her hair.

Kim chooses a very simple yet large diamond for her ears. The design is very simple and doesn't feature any sort of pattern. In fact, the very design was Oprah's favorite. A pear and round diamond paired together.

With so many diamonds going on, the look is very balanced.

Over the past few days, I have been searching Amazon for a look just like Kims, but with no success, so I have come up with some necklaces that will give you the same look as Kim's with some alterations. Below are some of my best picks:

Cleopatra must have been Kim's inspiration for her wedding look. Her hair seems to be tied back into a large over-sized knot. Certainly hair extensions would need to be used to achieve this look.

If you search on Amazon and Ebay, Remy Hair has a wide variety of Human Hair extensions that will not look artificial in your hair. In my experience, the synthetic hair often looks very fake, so choosing something that is human, will allow you to wear it on a variety of occasions without someone spotting additonal hair that is not yours, because it is REAL hair. Adding the extra volume will go a long way.

Kim is also known for her extravagant eyes. Adding some fake eye lashes onto your lashes on your big day will go a LONG way. I have used Ardell in the past for my fake lashes. If you use a lash that isn't so voluminous, it allows you to build up your mascara giving it a more natural appearance. Before applying your fake eyelashes, it is very important that you first curl your own lashes. A heated eyelash curler will give you the bigger impact in less time. By curling your lashes before adding the fake eyelashes you will get a better impact and a more natural look. If you leave your natural lashes alone without curling them, you will be able to spot the difference as you apply mascara. The fake ones will be slightly curled, while your own natural ones will appear less curved. Matching up both the natural and the fake in the same curved pattern will gives a better look.

I have worn lashes only on the special occasion, it does go a long way to building up that dramatic eye.

Practicing with a smoky eyeshadow before your wedding will give you a better indication of what you want for your wedding day. Nothing is more dramatic than a beautiful set of eyes. You will thank yourself later in pictures!

Practicing with the make-up will enable you to decide if more or less is more appropriate for your wedding day. Going a little bit more dramatic with your make-up for your reception is handy when you know how to do it, and your makeup artist has gone home for the day.

There are a number of great smoky eye kits out there, and a variety of colors to play around with. I particularly like the Sephora Collection of eye shadows, as they combine a lot of natural colors that you can build up on the eye, and two really nice gray and black colors. They also sell a toned down version of the shadow which features some brown shades which you may opt for if you want to get the same effect with natural colors.

My Favorite Colorstay Products

If you have never tried Revlon's Colorstay line, I would highly recommend it. The eyeshadow's are particularly great. I use their green selection as my eyeliner, and apply it with an eye liner brush. The best thing about their line is their colors stay on ALL DAY long! You don't need to apply it again. The last thing you want is to pay for a wonderful makeup job that wears off half way through the day. I would recommend trying this line before your wedding. Try the different colors to see which ones you enjoy the most.

Here is a simple diagram of the eye shadow colors in their line. I particularly like the Copper Spice, The Coffee Bean and the Neutral Khakis for the green because I have green eyes. Pick up a few of the colors and try out which ones work best, experimenting before your big day. Your fiance may like the new look after your wedding day, because the make up is yours to keep.

One way to balance a heavy eye is to work with more of a natural lip. Choosing a pink, coral or nude lip can go a long way with a dramatic eye. Revlon also has a color stay lip color that dries quickly and lasts 12 hours, no matter who you kiss or what you drink, IT DOESN'T COME OFF! You don't want to re-apply your make up through the night, so this is a product you should consider for your wedding.

I have loved the product Revlon has for their lipstick called Colorstay Overtime. It comes with the lip color, as well as a gloss. I haven't used the gloss, because the color goes on and stays matte. If you like the look of a stained lip, this product is for you. In the past I have purchased the Timeless Nude, Bare Maximum, and Constantly Coral. The Timeless Nude is a great choice, because as you apply it, you can add in some of your favorite lipstick color while it is still wet, or after. If you apply it after, the Revlon product serves as a base to your lipstick. Also, you can blot off most of the color if you want a stained look, and the look will last you all day long. Constantly Coral has been my color for years, because I love the way peach can give you a youthful appearance and brighten up the face.

Back to Kim's Headpiece........ This picture gives you a better look at her bridal jewelry. You can see her very voluptuousness lashes, sculpted eyebrows, and nude lip, and all those diamonds!!

Again, it has been hard for me to locate a headpiece identical to Kim's, so I have listed some necklaces below that would be good candidates for this look. With a few alterations, and some extra pieces, this look can be yours!!

How To Alter Any Of These Necklaces:

I used to create Tiaras as a hobby, so here is what I would use to alter these necklaces....

1. You will need a package of Jump Rings in Silver. These would connect any additional pieces. You will need to open and close them with pliers. Oval Jump Rings may sit better on the forehead than round ones. Consider buying both sizes to see which one is less noticeable after the alteration.

2. A good set hobby pliers is perfect for a job such as this, as it includes 5 essential pliers for any jewelry making.

Cubic Zirconia connectors are hard to find. You can see the beautiful pendant on each side of Kim's hairline which distinguishes this headpiece from a necklace. This part of the headpiece is very important, because it shows itself to be a piece of jewelry specifically made for the hair than for the neck. Sometimes you can find two brooches that can be set into this headpiece, or a connector that will meld the two pieces together. The Jolee's Jewels Banana Leaf AB Connectors is the best one I could find on Amazon. Ebay may have a few more with some searches. The other connector I would suggest is the Rhodium Plated Connector Setting For Swarovski 12mm Rivoli. I couldn't say if the slightly pointed rhinestone would be comfortable along the head. It is worth giving it a try, as the setting is quite lovely!! This stone would be the ideal crystal to pair with any of the necklaces with this setting. Additionally, the Bezel Pendant Setting can be used in the front of the headpiece.

Cubic Zirconia Rhinestone Drop

Any of the previous Bezel set stones can be simply attached to a pendant of your choosing. After seeing how easy it is to attach jewelry using jump rings and plyers, you can hook up many sorts of jewelry. My only suggestion is that you stay within the style of the original necklace, otherwise it is obvious that it is homemade.

Another idea is to simply buy a pendant for both sides of your head and hook two rhinestone connectors in the loop area of the pendant. Bling sells a stunning pear pendant. Try finding a pendant that is not overly heavy for both sides.

Here is an option- Bridal Jewelry, Cubic Zirconia Stone Drop Earrings -Get rid of the top of the earring in this earring, and there is your connector, two simple stones.

Again, another set of earrings that has connectors- Bridal Earrings, Silver Plated with CZ Rhinestone Drops It is a little bit pricey, but you can always end up shortening this set down and still wear the earrings on another occasion. The princess stones would be nice on the side of the head.

Tiaras, by some are thought to originate from the laurel wreaths worn by the ancient Greeks and Romans. The delicate leaves have been seen positioned in shapes of ovals, circles, or simply in a design connecting one leaf to another. The style combines Grecian influences and a timeless style. Laurel leaves continue through the years to be extremely elegant, featured on royalty and celebrities alike. On her 21st birthday, Princess Margaret received from her mother, Queen Elizabeth, the Persian “Flames of Love” of Persian turquoises set in diamonds that the Queen herself had received as a wedding gift in 1923 from her father-in-law, King George V. The exquisite tiara incorporates lamps, laurel leaves, and lovers’ knots. It is one of the most lovely pieces of workmanship in the royal crown jewels. In Munn’s book, “Tiaras: A History of Splendor”, the tiara alone gets four pages of photographs alone. Catherine Zeta Jones also wore a tiara with marquise-cut stones giving the impression of laurel leaves in a sophisticated design. I ran across a tiara much to the likes of Catherine Zeta Jones and Princess Margaret's tiaras and I fell in love instantly because the style doesn't surface that often, if never. I saved the picture of tiara in hopes I would run into it again, and it showed up on Amazon as I was looking around today. Below you will see the many tiaras that are considered "priceless", and if you compare them to this tiara, you will see, it has tremendous style. The best thing is, you can buy it for under $90 dollars.

This headband can easily be turned into a tiara by fastening it to a metal headband. Typical plain metal headbands wouldn't support this design well, as you need to support the design both at the top and the bottom. This crystal headband sold by Dahlia would be the ideal support for the Laurel design. You would have to take off the existing pattern off the frame with some pliers. Ideally it should be soldered to the headband. Soldering jewelry is very easy. All you need is a soldering iron and the material which holds it together, which is the resin.

Ideally I would start by anchoring the pattern to the headband using some metal craft wire. Or, slip the metal headband in between the back of the vertical metal backing and the design itself. It was originally designed to keep the ribbon in place, and it may just function perfectly to keep the headband in place. You may not even have to solder!!

(Be sure as you are soldering that you start on an edge where the wire is NOT present) You would hold the soldering iron to the location of the headband and heat it up. Once you think the headband is hot enough to melt the resin, take the resin and touch it in the location where you want the tiara pattern and the headband to melt together.

If you haven't ever soldered metal, try on some practice pieces first. Don't be afraid to try. The soldering iron is only 9 dollars. (Be sure to always work near an open window because the fumes aren't the greatest for you and may actually be toxic. Be very careful as it can burn you if you are not careful. Safety always comes first. You can always take the headband and the Laurel leaves to a jeweler to complete as I am sure it would be quite inexpensive. The look is very high end on a wedding budget.

One of the best hairstyles of the past couple years is Blake Lively's hair for Gossip Girl on the episode featuring the white party. Millions tuned in to capture a glimpse into the lives of Royal's William and Kate's wedding day. Many people in the US and Canada started watching the news at midnight until they walked down the isle. The side embellishment headpieces have made their way on to the runway and are becoming a new trend within bridal jewelry. I think if I were to do my wedding all over again, I would do this look, because it is different than the wedding looks we have seen for the past 50 years. This is a really hot look for any bride who is looking for a youthful sexy appearance. The look is sexy, refined, simplistic yet very glamorous! The photo above has been photoshoped to show you how beautiful a side embellished tiara could look with a sleek sexy ponytail. (I honestly don't know who the celebrity is, but she is quite beautiful) The ponytail style is certainly not the typical bridal hairstyle choice, but there are some ways you can fancy up a ponytail to look very glamorous.

Add Some Volume

Pair Up Your Ponytail with A Destination or Informal Gown.

1. To wear a ponytail with a wedding gown, you must pair up this hairstyle with a gown that would be appropriate with this hairstyle. Destination gowns are ideal for this style. Consider gowns that are slender, or which use light weight fabrics. Maggie Sottero's VD7118 features a higher neckline where the hair would look dynamite pulled to the back of the head. My other favorites are RD1114, JD1328, RD1044, and SD5204. The look above is a ponytail pulled higher at the top of the head. Consider adding a braid extension which could possibly wrap around the ponytail for a fuller look.

Add Some Volume

2. Unless you have very long thick hair, you will need to add hair extensions for this look. Adding extensions will give you full volume, even though most of your hair will be pulled to the back. This is your chance to have fuller thicker hair for once in your life. The best part of this style is it won't look obvious that you are wearing extensions because the hair is pulled to the back.

Ponytail Ideas

Some ponytail looks feature a poof at the mid-back works really well with a bridal hairstyle because it is somewhat whimsical.

Jessica Simpson has a wonderful hair extention line with both real and fake hair. I would suggest getting the real hair, but the fake hair is just as nice without the cost. Simpson is the only one that I know of that sells bang extentions for those brides who want the look of bangs without having to cut their hair and then wait several years for their bangs to grow back out. You can have instant bangs for your wedding day without having to be stuck with the look for several years after.

Simpson's ponytail wrap is very easy to put in, although for the bride who wants more volume and longer length, consider going with something thicker which your hairstylist can cut and trim for the perfect bridal hairstyle.

Add Some Fake Bangs

Work with extensions that are close to your natural color, or have your hair dyed as close to the hair extension as possible.

My BEST experiences with hair extensions is to find extensions that are almost identical to your natural hair color, or to find extensions that work with the hair color you intend to dye your hair. Consider bringing the hair extension into the salon so they can match it up just right.

My preference with hair extensions is NOT to choose the least expensive hair extension on the market. I bought a set of extensions for a beauty pageant once and because my hair was so damaged, it didn't have the shine and weight that the synthetic hair does.

Often times the cheapest hair extensions look like plastic, and feel way too smooth and straight to the touch. Most peoples hair is rather dull, and thin, so it is worth the investment to buy real hair than fake. From one brand to the next, they are all different. Most of the middle range brands are fairly nice to wear. Remember not all brands are alike. Most are certainly NOT like the cheesy ponytail hair rings you see for $2 at your local drugstore.

Today we see the trend for veils is the flat veil which is draped over the head without any gatherings. Look at Kate Middleton's pictures for a simplistic veil draped over her head and tiara. All you need to do is attach a clear plastic comb to the middle of a long veil which can be pushed into the hair behind the tiara. It can simply be removed after the wedding ceremony.

In 2008, Prince Joachim married Marie Cavallier, and she still wears her wedding tiara to this day at formal occasions. The bride wore an off-white gown with a three-metre-long train designed by David Arasa and Claudio Morelli from fashion house Arasa Morelli. Her tiara featured sweeping designs with pave set flowers set at the top of the headpiece. For the beginning of the ceremony pictures show her lace veil over top of her tiara giving her headpiece even more of a delicate ornate look. Her veil was held in place with the tiara who belonged to her new mother-in-law. Following the ceremony, the couple left the church in a vintage car to attend a wedding banquet at their new joint residence. Ingrid Victoria Sofia Louise Margareta, queen of Sweden married then Crown Prince of Denmark, Frederik IX of Denmark. The two married in Stockholm on 24 May 1935. It was common even to this day that royalty intermarries. Ingrid was related to Frederik in several ways. In descent from Oscar I of Sweden, they were third cousins. In descent from Leopold I, Grand Duke of Baden, they were third cousins. In descent from Paul I of Russia, Frederick was a fourth cousin of Ingrid's mother. She became the Queen of Denmark upon her husband's accession to the throne on 20 April 1947. The couple had three children. After her death in Fredensborg Palace, Fredensborg, in 2000, Queen Ingrid was interred next to her husband outside Roskilde Cathedral near Copenhagen. The high adventure whimsical 1987 film "The Princess Bride" told a story of beauty and the romance that brought two people together in love. The film itself was certainly charming, but the costumes stole the show. The Princess bride wore a silver crown of flowers which were combined with pearls positioned in the center of the flowers. The crown was particularly enchanting, and at some angles it looked as if it was combined with real flowers. Elizabethan jewelry captures the essense of grand luxury as jewelry was anything but plain. 16 century jewelry often featured stones with primitive cuts that we don't see in today's market. In the 16th century, jewelry featured gems with simpler cuts, often oval or square in shape. Diamonds were cut much like a pyramid, where the shape is cut like a pointed gem. Although, these primitive cuts are hard to find in todays market, pearls at that time were just as much as much of a showcase as gems were. Pearls staged themselves in brilliant gold and were also sewn onto clothing and were most commonly used to decorate hair. Queen Victoria’s Orange Flower Blossom Wedding Headpiece

Floral wreaths have always remained one of the more romantic choices for bridal headpieces. Small white flowers gently tucked in the hair can be an especially delicate choice for garden weddings which take place in the spring and summer. Tropical orchids have been a popular choice in recent years, and because of the accessibility of transportation, tropical flowers can be imported from other countries. Florals have been the classic choice of brides throughout time, and it was the choice for Queen Victoria of England. On the 10th of February 1840, Queen Victoria married her true love, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Her love for Albert was so great that when he died, it was said the Queen wore black for the rest of her life as she was in deep mourning over Albert.

Queen Victoria’s dress was a rich white satin gown trimmed with orange flower blossoms. The pattern of her gown was rich and surpassed anything that had ever been executed in England. More than two hundred persons were employed to create her gown from March to November. Queen Victoria didn't wear a crown of diamonds, but instead a headpiece that matched her gown. The headpiece contained orange flower blossoms and was worn with a lace veil. The veil was made of the same material as the gown, and allowed many of the poor lace workers to be employed for more than six weeks. To much surprise Victorias bridesmaids also wore white.

The 2009 film, The Young Victoria featured the turbulent first years of Queen Victoria's rule and her enduring romance with Prince Albert. The movie stars Emily Blunt, and Rupert Friend and Paul Bettany.
